Discover the wonder of backyard plants in this Living Science Botany course. Students will have fun identifying and sketching backyard plants as well as making herbal remedies in the kitchen!

CLASS DESCRIPTION FROM STACIE:
Join me as we discover the wonder of amazing backyard plants! Learn tips and tricks for properly identifying the plants we study as well as folklore, practical uses and remedies relating to each plant. You’ll need to bring along your nature journal so we can permanently etch the plants we learn in your mind’s eye through the use of a journal entry (plus, you’ll want a place to take notes of all the amazing plant attributes, too!) We’ll have some time during each session so you can get some hands-on experience learning to make herbal remedies in your own kitchen (you’ll learn the basics of infusions, decoctions, poultices, oils, tinctures and salves).
Please note there will be homework and assignments for the off weeks in between our live sessions to challenge your children, get them out in nature, and cement what they’re learning in their minds!
