It sits opposite an incredible mural called “L’Hémicycle des Beaux-arts” (also known as just the “Hemicycle”) by Paul Delaroche.

The mural represents seventy-five great artists of all ages. In the center of the mural, there are three thrones that depict the creators of the Parthenon: the sculptor Phidias, the architect Ictinus, and the painter Apelles, to symbolize the unity of these arts.
