Living Geography Books for Form 3 Students (Grades 7-8)

Adventure North (2016) and Canoeing with the Cree (1930) both remind me of a real-life Paddle to the Sea type of an adventure story.  The authors of Adventure North also have a podcast in which they describe each day of their journey to listeners. (Please note that the 1930 book Canoeing with the Cree does have some racial comments.)

Chasing Shackleton (2014) is a real-life recreation of Ernest Shackleton’s 1914 expedition to the South Pole. The PBS show is that goes with it is outstanding.

Richard Halliburton’s Book of Marvels (1937) is one of my son’s favorite geography books. Please note there are some slight racial comments.
