WHAT IS A SPECIAL NEEDS MEMBERSHIP?
Joining my Special Needs Membership Group will help you homeschool your special needs child and it will help you implement the Charlotte Mason method from a developmental perspective instead of a grade perspective. It will help you evaluate where your child is and what the next step is; not where he “should be.”
I will help you consider the needs of your child. the needs of your family, as well as consider your needs as the teacher and mom.
I know you desperately want to give your child an education perfectly fitted to his needs, but sometimes you just don’t know where to start, how to help him take the next step, and are afraid you might leave out a crucial component.
I can help.

ABOUT ME: I UNIQUELY UNDERSTAND YOUR SPECIAL NEEDS FAMILY
I have been consulting privately with Special Needs families for the last 15 years. Now, I am bringing my experience as a School Psychologist, Special Needs parent, and Autistic individual to the homeschool community in hopes of helping more families find joy in their educational journey with their Special Needs children.
I have an Educational Specialist Degree (Ed.S.) with an emphasis in Neuropsychology, a Masters in Educational Psychology, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Mathematics. You can read more about me and my family here.
“My [time] with Amy was “hands down” one of the best investments I have made as a homeschool mom of a special needs child. Since Amy not only homeschools her special needs children, she also is neurodiverse. Her expertise in special needs education in addition to a Charlotte Mason philosophy of education is a perfect asset to any special needs homeschool. Amy is indispensable in my opinion. She is so affirming in her approach to help you see that you are more than able to teach your unique children who have special challenges.” – Monique, Special Needs Homeschooling Mom
WHY THE CHARLOTTE MASON METHOD IS BEST FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS & LEARNING DISABILITIES
I have chosen the Charlotte Mason method to homeschool my own children because it is the way I wish I, as a child on the Autism spectrum, had been educated. Recognizing early on that my children were also on the Autism spectrum, I knew a Charlotte Mason education would be a perfect fit for many different reasons.
But the primary reason is that Charlotte Mason chose to make her first principle “Children are born persons.” Too often children with special needs are viewed as “less than” because of their differences. Charlotte Mason makes respect for their personhood the foundation of their education.
Professionally, personally, and as a parent, I have a significant amount of experience with Autism and all the many processing and learning disabilities that can go with Autism. All of these different angles of experience give me a very unique perspective and insight into homeschooling Special Needs students. Read more about my credentials here.
RELIEF & REASSURANCE:
Here’s what other moms had to say about working with me:
“Amy is a breath of fresh air! She understands the public education system, yet with her background in neuropsychology is able to truly understand the child. Because of her background in public education, she understands the pain of trying to utilize the public education system to help your child, what you might have been told and your story. She confirmed everything I had researched about the brain and learning and gave me more information I was not aware of. She was the first professional that TRULY understood my child, my situation and how to help us PRACTICALLY. I wish I could give her 100 stars!” – Danielle, Special Needs Homeschooling Mom
“I am so thankful for Amy and people like her who fight for the little human treasures inside each of our children. Her testing and evaluation were far more thorough and insightful than anything we have done previously. I look forward to applying her recommendations and ideas and feeling more confident in our homeschooling direction and experience. I know for sure that my daughter is far better off. Thank you Amy!!!!!! You really are a Rock Star!!!!” – Tricia, Homeschooling Special Needs Mom
“Amy truly is a blessing. She was very thorough in the process of finding where my child was. Because of her, our homeschool is going much better. I’d definitely recommend her. As a special needs parent, I felt very alone and not sure I was homeschooling him to the best of my ability. Amy gave me great ideas and it’s going better than ever now.” – Laurel, Special Needs Homeschooling Mom
